Beneficiation techniques of Delicatus
The Solarios, identified in the report as GRANITO SOLARIUS, is marketed as ornamental granite. Its petrographic classification is MUSCOVITA LEUCOGRANODIORITO PEGMATITIC PORFIRITIC, igneous rock, compact, with a heterogeneous appearance and porphyritic texture. The sample exhibits centimeter-sized and millimeter-sized feldspar crystals, gray quartz, and scattered patches of biotite, as well as orange-colored patches of iron oxides and hydroxides. Microscopically, a predominantly feldspar structure is observed, with poorly fractured crystals and mineral contacts mainly curved. The report indicates that the fracturing and the identified alterations do not compromise the rock's cohesion.
Mineralogical composition: Oligoclase 60%, Quartz 22%, Muscovite 10%, Microcline 7%, Gneiss 1% and Tumalian <1%.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THE MANUFACTURER (MARBLE WORKER)
Processing Data
The guidelines below are general manufacturing recommendations, not prescriptions or test results. Atlas laboratory. The process must take into account the characteristics of the sheet, the resin, the thickness and the design.
Cutting methodology: use diamond discs and tools compatible with silicate rocks, while maintaining Proper cooling with clean water. Perform advance and rotation tests; avoid vibrations and tensions focused on cuts, corners and narrow pieces.
Waterproofing in the cutting areas: clean and dry the edges after processing. Check the Compatibility of the protective layer with the finish and resin of the sheet; test in a discrete area and follow the Manufacturer. The report does not specify a waterproofing product. Adhesive assembly: use specific adhesives for natural rocks, suitable for the application and the environment.
Respect dosage, cure and conditions of use; dimension reinforcements, reinforcements and supports according to the project.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR FABRICATORS (Stone Workers)
This material offers excellent workability for making countertops, sinks, stairs, and other pieces. It should be processed with the same care as a normal exotic rock, offering good impact and flexural strength, and excellent abrasion resistance due to its quartz content.
Cutting Method: to ensure the quality of cuts and grinding, we recommend diamond discs, core saws and grinding wheels made with a medium metal bond. In Brazil, we recommend tools from Performance, model PS31, Performance PS5
Surface protection:
To ensure the material's vitality in terms of protection, we recommend using products that protect the color and are waterproof at the same time.
In both scenarios, we recommend the following products:
Tenax waterproofing and color activator – Easywet, creates a wet effect on the material.
Tenax – Counterpro anti-stain protector.
Bellinzoni Color Revitalizer – Grezzo Protector
NOTE: Apply only when there are small signs of color loss, or after 3 years of use of the piece (countertops, sinks, washbasins, etc.,...
Adhesive bonding: to ensure the best adhesion quality, we recommend the following adhesives:
Brazil and abroad: Adhesives such as Fix Top components A and B, Tenax brand, Blitz Mástique, Bellinzonni brand, Marmofiz, Argacon brand.
NOTE: It is important to strictly follow the proportion of glue + catalyst recommended by the manufacturers. In this case, we recommend using a pigment to match the color pattern of the material.
Installation on sink countertops: We recommend installing countertops made of this material with corner brackets every 70 cm. Fixing should be done with gray or black PU40 polyurethane glue. Do not use industrial silicone, as this glue may stain the countertop surface.
Laying of internal and external floors. The mortar should be installed with white ACIII mortar. After installation, grout with flexible grout in the same color as the material. After the mortar has cured, we recommend applying a layer of one of the revitalizers mentioned above.
Post-installation cleaning and protection: All post-construction cleaning must be carried out using water and neutral detergent to remove residue; the use of acidic detergents is not permitted, as this type of detergent damages the waterproofing protection applied to the parts.
Recommendation: Quartzolit post-construction cleaner, Post-construction floor cleaner detergent – Bellinzonni, PCS Alkaline – Piso Clean, Basic Cleaner detergent – AKEMI brand.
