Benefication techniques of Blue Deep Quartzite
Blue Deep is an ornamental rock of medium-greenish gray color, isotropic structure, and Very fine granulation. The petrographic report classifies the sample as METAMICROGABRO. This Technical classification must be preserved regardless of the designation used commercially. The rock has a fine matrix, alkaline feldspar and plagioclase crystals, with interstitial chlorite; transgranular microcracks were observed filled with sericite or
carbonate.
Mineralogical composition estimated visually in the report: plagioclase 60%, orthoclase 29%, chlorite 10%, opaque minerals 1%; carbonates and clinopyroxene appear in rounded proportions of 0% in the graph, being mentioned as secondary minerals. The rock exhibits chloritization extensive and moderate degree of change. This information describes the sample tested.
INFORMATION FOR FABRICATORS (Stone Workers)
The selection of tools and inputs must take into account the mineralogical composition, the finish, the sheet thickness and characteristics of each batch. The following recommendations are guidelines. General manufacturing specifications, not tests or prescriptions of the FACI.
Cutting methodology: use diamond tools suitable for the rock and equipment, with continuous cooling with clean water. Perform test cuts and adjust advance and rotation according to the observed performance. Pay special attention to internal cuts, corners, and areas concentration of tension.
Collage of the pieces: use self-adhesive stickers for natural rocks that are compatible with the substrate;, finish and use environment. Respect mixing proportions, temperature and curing time specified by the manufacturer. Reinforcements, gaskets and supports must be sized for each project.
Recommended Finishes
Polished: enhances the chromatic depth of the bluish background and the natural mineral movement.
Leathered: provides an elegant satin finish that enhances the natural texture of the stone.
Honed: creates a sophisticated matte finish widely used in contemporary projects.
Processing and Cutting
Due to its high quartz concentration, the use of high-performance diamond tools is recommended.
Because of the presence of lamellar minerals such as muscovite, special attention is recommended during cutting and polishing to minimize the risk of micro-delamination.
Sealing
Although the material is dense and has low absorption, preventive sealing is recommended for countertops and high-use surfaces.
Recommended Products:

INSTALLATION
Installation on vertical panels:
Use PU 40 polyurethane adhesive, ensuring that the surface is properly leveled and clean before application.
Allow the curing time recommended by the manufacturer before releasing the area for use.
Floor installation:
A flexible adhesive mortar with high chemical adhesion is recommended.
Recommended Mortars:
Quartzo D mortar – AKEMI
White Flexible ACIII Mortar – Quartzolit
Votomassa ACIII Mortar – Votoran
Recommended Grouts:
Premium Super Polymer Grout – AKEMI
Epoxy Grout – Quartzolit
Post-installation cleaning and protection
Clean the surface using water and neutral detergent.
Avoid acidic products, as they may compromise the sealer applied to the stone.
Recommended Products:
Bellinzoni Floor Cleaning Detergent
PCS Alcalino – Piso Clean
Basic Cleaner – AKEMI
After cleaning, it is recommended to apply sealer to the entire surface, including edges, to help protect the material against moisture infiltration.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR END USERS (Attention: Family Members and Household Staff)
Final User Care Guidelines
Reapply the sealer every 12 months.
Avoid abrasive cleaning products.
Do not cut directly on the stone surface without using a cutting board.
Avoid placing hot cookware directly on the surface.
Avoid dragging utensils or objects that may scratch the stone.
Quickly remove potentially staining liquids such as wine, coffee, lemon juice, ketchup, and similar substances.
With proper care, the Ocean Blue Quartzite can maintain its beauty and technical performance for decades, preserving the aesthetic value of the architectural project.
