Quartzite Infinity Grey Processing Techniques
The The a grey color with variations of lighter and darker tones, creating a visual movement of rare beauty. It has a medium grain and can be used in a wide range of applications such as gourmet islands, countertops, panels, indoor and outdoor floors, stairs, bathrooms, and tables, among others. With such versatility, it adapts perfectly to any design. Composed of 100% quartz with traces of sericite and opaque minerals, it has a greyish hue that enhances its resistance to staining during everyday use.
Lighter and darker tonal variations create a visual movement of rare beauty. It features medium grain. This stone can be used in a wide range of applications such as gourmet islands, countertops, panels, indoor and outdoor flooring, stairs, bathrooms and tables, among others.
USEFUL INFORMATION FOR INSTALLERS
Installation of vertical panels: For installing vertical panels, backsplashes, and baseboards, we recommend the use of polyurethane adhesive (PU 40). The wall surface must be level and clean, free of dust or dirt. After applying PU 40 and bonding the pieces, wait for the curing time recommended by the manufacturer before using the area.
Recommended adhesives: Hybrid Glue AK 100 (AKEMI) / TK PU 40 White (AKEMI) / PU 40 Multi Gray (Barone) / PU 40 (Tekbond)
Floor installation: For installing indoor and outdoor floors, we recommend using mortar with high chemical adhesion and flexible properties. For grouting, use waterproof and flexible products.
Recommended for installation: Quartz D Mortar (AKEMI) / ACIII White Flexible Cement Mortar (Quartzolit) / Votomassa Internal/External ACIII White Mortar (Votoran)
Recommended for grouting:Premium Super Polymer Flexible Grout (AKEMI) / Epoxy Grout (Quartzolit)
Post-installation cleaning and protection: All post-construction cleaning must be carried out using water and neutral detergent to remove residues. Acidic detergents are not permitted, as they damage the waterproofing layer applied to the pieces.
Recommended cleaners: Post-construction Cleaner (Quartzolit) / Floor Cleaner (Bellinzoni) / PCS Alkaline (Piso Clean) / Basic Cleaner (AKEMI)
Post-installation protection: After cleaning, dry the entire area and apply a waterproofing layer over all surfaces, including bonding edges and joints. This protects the material from any type of infiltration that may occur during daily use.
Recommended waterproofing products: Rock Protect (Chemistone) / Idea Gold (Bellinzoni) / Nano Effect (AKEMI)
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THE END USER (Homeowners and Cleaning Staff)
Long-term care:
- Reapply waterproofing every 12 months. These products are volatile and gradually evaporate over time, so periodic reapplication is necessary.
Recommended products: Rock Protect (Chemistone) / Idea Gold (Bellinzoni) / Nano Effect (AKEMI)
How to apply: Wash the surface thoroughly with water and neutral detergent, then dry with a towel. Spray 70% alcohol over the area and let it evaporate for 30 minutes. Finish drying with a hairdryer. Once the surface is clean and dry, spray the waterproofing product (using a regular spray bottle) evenly over the surface and spread it with a white cloth (to prevent color transfer). Let the product penetrate the stone pores for 12 hours. After that, your countertop or table is ready for use. These products are non-toxic.
This procedure ensures protection for your product and safety for your family.
- Surface protection guidelines:
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, as they can scratch the surface. Use a cloth or sponge with neutral soap.
- Do not cut food directly on the surface. Always use cutting boards.
- Do not place hot objects, such as pans, directly on the countertop. Natural stones are treated with resin, a polymer that can change color when exposed to intense heat, causing stains. Use wooden, rubber, plastic, or fabric trivets.
- Do not drag utensils across the surface. Small imperfections can cause scratches.
- Although the stone is dense, low-porosity, and protected by resin and waterproofing, it can absorb small amounts of liquids if left for long periods. Acidic and alkaline substances such as vinegar, lemon, coffee, wine, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, soft drinks, beetroot, and oils can cause stains if not removed promptly.
- Avoid impacts, excessive weight, or shocks on your stone. Despite its apparent robustness, natural stone has low cohesion between minerals and may develop cracks or fissures under physical stress or vibration. Do not use pestles directly on the surface unless protected by an impact absorber.
WITH THE RIGHT CARE, YOUR NATURAL STONE WILL LAST FOR GENERATIONS, PRESERVING THE SAME BEAUTY AND ELEGANCE AS THE DAY IT WAS INSTALLED.
