Perla Venata Quartzite processing techniques
The Perla Venata, from the TAJ family, it is a quartzite mined in the Moraújo/Uruoca region - CE, Brazil. Its color is predominantly white to light cream, with veins ranging from light gray to light green, in patterns ranging from rectilinear to cloudy, giving the environment a sense of clarity and sophistication. Above all, it is a material that integrates with any furniture, regardless of color. It can be used in a wide variety of applications, such as gourmet islands, countertops, panels, interior floors, stairs, and tables, among others, demonstrating great versatility and adaptation to any project. Its grain size ranges from fine to coarse. This rock is composed of 100% quartz, which, combined with the geological conditions to which it has been subjected, makes it one of the hardest materials on the natural coverings market. In addition to its high hardness, it has very low porosity, which aids in specifications in high-use areas such as kitchen islands and countertops.

Processing Data
The correct selection of inputs for manufacturing this product directly impacts production costs and the final quality of the finished part. Assuming the equipment used is in good condition, the cooling system water is clean, and there is no solid waste circulating through it, the following are recommendations for the inputs required for successful processing:
Cutting Method: to ensure the quality of cuts and grinding, we recommend diamond discs, saws, cups and grinding wheels made of soft metal alloy. In Brazil, we recommend tools from Performance Model PS 5 – 350mm, • Rocha Distribuidora Model: Standard Diamond Blade for Nano Glass.
Sealing at cutting areas: Even though it is a product with very low water absorption and few pores, we recommend waterproofing the cut edges of any piece.
Procedure: dry the edges immediately after cutting with a cloth or burlap and then with a hair dryer, followed by applying waterproofing using a brush.

Abroad: Idea Gold, by Bellinzonni / Stain Proof, by Alicante / Proseal, by Tenax.
Adhesive bonding: to ensure the best adhesion quality, we recommend the following adhesives:
Brazil and abroad: Platinum, by AKEMI, / Titanium, by Tenax / or Spezial tak, by Bellinzonni
Note: Always follow the manufacturer’s specified ratio of adhesive and hardener. At mild temperatures, curing time may increase. It is important to remove the protective mesh at the cutting area to ensure full adhesion.
Installation of vertical panels: For installing vertical panels, bench tops, and baseboards, we recommend using PU 40 polyurethane adhesive; remember that the wall surface must be level and free of dust and other dirt. After applying PU 40 and installing the piece, we recommend waiting the manufacturer's suggested curing time before releasing the area for use. For mortar, always use white ACII, as per the brands suggested in the topics below.

Installation of vertical panels: For installing vertical panels, bench tops, and skirting boards, we recommend using PU 40 polyurethane adhesive. Remember that the wall surface must be level and free of dust and other dirt. After applying PU 40 and gluing the pieces, we recommend waiting the manufacturer's suggested curing time before releasing the area for use.
PU adhesive suggestions: AK 100 hybrid adhesive, from AKEMI / TK PU 40 white, from AKEMI / PU 40 multi gray from the manufacturer Barone / or PU 40, from Tekbond
Floor installation: For indoor and outdoor flooring, use a mortar with strong chemical adhesion and flexible properties.
Recommendation: Quartzo D mortar, from the manufacturer AKEMI / Flexible white ACIII cement mortar, from Quartzolit / or Votoran white ACIII internal/external Votomassa mortar.
Grouting: Use waterproof and flexible grouts. Suggestions: Premium Super Polymer Flexible Grout (AKEMI) / Epoxy Grout (Quartzolit).
Post-construction cleaning: All post-construction cleaning must be carried out using water and neutral detergent to remove residue; the use of acidic detergents is not permitted, as this damages the waterproofing protection applied to the parts.
Recommendation: Quartzolit post-construction cleaner / Post-Construction floor cleaner detergent, by Bellinzonni / PCS Alcalino, by Piso Clean / or Basic Cleaner detergent, by AKEMI
Post-construction protection: After cleaning, dry the area and apply a waterproofing coat over all surfaces, including edges and joints, to protect against infiltration.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR END USERS (Attention: Family Members and Household Staff)
Care and maintenance guidelines for users over time:
- Reapply waterproofing every 12 months. These products are volatile and gradually evaporate.
Recommended products: Rock Protect (Chemistone) / Idea Gold (Bellinzoni) / Nano Effect (AKEMI)
How to apply: Wash the surface thoroughly with water and neutral detergent, then dry with a towel. Spray 70% alcohol over the area and let it evaporate for 30 minutes. Finish drying with a hairdryer. Once the surface is clean and dry, spray the waterproofing product (using a regular spray bottle) evenly over the surface and spread it with a white cloth (to prevent color transfer). Let the product penetrate the stone pores for 12 hours. After that, your countertop or table is ready for use. These products are non-toxic.
This procedure ensures protection for your product and safety for your family.
- Surface protection guidelines:
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, as they can scratch the surface. Use a cloth or sponge with neutral soap.
- Do not cut food directly on the surface. Always use cutting boards.
- Do not place hot objects, such as pans, directly on the countertop. Natural stones are treated with resin, a polymer that can change color when exposed to intense heat, causing stains. Use wooden, rubber, plastic, or fabric trivets.
- Do not drag utensils across the surface. Small imperfections can cause scratches.
- Even though it's a dense product with little porosity and protected by resin and waterproofing, natural stone can absorb small amounts of liquids that remain on its surface for a long time. Some of these liquids, especially acids and alkalines, can cause stains when absorbed. Among these, we highlight: vinegar, lemon, coffee, wine, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, soda, beetroot, and oils. It's okay if any of these products are spilled or exposed on your countertop or table, but we recommend not waiting too long to remove them.
- Avoid blows, knocks, excessive weight, or impacts on your natural stone. Despite its apparent robustness, rocks have little bonding between their elements and can crack or fissure if subjected to physical shock or vibration. Avoid using spice grinders directly on the surface, unless it is well protected by an impact absorber.
